NorthRadar vs Bombora
Bombora tells you which companies are consuming more content about a topic than usual. NorthRadar tells you which person compared you against which competitor on a page we own. Both are called intent data. They answer different questions, and only one of them names a person.

Bombora is the right buy for account-level coverage across a huge company universe. It says itself that it does not identify individuals, and its output is a score per domain per topic. If your reps need a name, an email, and the vendor the buyer compared you against, Bombora cannot supply it and NorthRadar does.
A fair summary, in our words.
Bombora runs a data co-op of thousands of B2B sites that carry its tag. It aggregates content consumption, resolves it to companies, and scores topic surges by comparing the last three weeks against a twelve-week baseline. A score of 60 or above on a topic counts as spiking. Company Surge is refreshed weekly and integrated into most ABM platforms, CRMs and DSPs, and Bombora was named a Leader in the Forrester Wave for intent data in 2025.
Where the data comes from decides everything else.

“You won't know anything about the contacts who may be in the market for your product.”

“Lack of high-quality company data makes Bombora almost useless. If you are trying to focus on specific industries and company sizes, the Bombora database is really bad.”
G2 review, quoted by MarketBetter
“Very expensive and too much learning curve compared to other tools like apollo, support team was okay and we have to wait a long to connect with right team.”
G2 review
“Wish it had who is researching.”
G2 review, quoted by Prospeo
- Reviewers praise the breadth of the topic taxonomy: 21,600+ intent topics.
- Because signals come from a publisher network rather than the bidstream, several reviewers rate accuracy highly for account prioritisation.
- Onboarding and customer success are rated best in class on TrustRadius.
- You need broad account coverage across millions of domains for scoring and prioritisation.
- Your ABM stack already expects Company Surge as an input.
- You are deciding which accounts to work, not who to call.
- You need a named person with role, email, phone and consent.
- You want the vendor pair the buyer compared, not a topic.
- You want to place your brand on the page where the comparison happens, not only buy the signal afterwards.
Keep Bombora for account scoring and add NorthRadar for the people at the accounts that matter. A Bombora surge on 'ERP' says a company is reading; a NorthRadar lead says the Controller there compared NetSuite with Sage Intacct on Tuesday. Both land in the same CRM, and the surge becomes actionable the moment a name arrives.
Questions buyers ask when comparing us with Bombora.
Is NorthRadar a Bombora alternative?
For account-level topic coverage, no; Bombora covers far more companies. For person-level, first-party signals with a recorded consideration set, yes. Teams often keep Bombora for account scoring and add NorthRadar for the people at the accounts that matter.
Does Bombora tell you who is researching?
No. Bombora's privacy policy states it does not use event data to identify individuals by name, and its delivered fields are domain, composite score and topic scores. Person reach comes only through partner platforms or ad audiences.
Why does the consideration set matter?
A topic surge says a company reads about ERP. A recorded comparison says the Controller at that company put NetSuite next to Sage Intacct, with a timestamp. The second tells a rep what to say and when.
Does NorthRadar use a data co-op?
No. All signals are recorded on properties we own, by our own tag, from people who opted in on those properties. Nothing is licensed from other publishers or read from the bidstream.
How fresh is each signal?
Bombora refreshes Company Surge weekly. NorthRadar delivers daily, or per event by webhook, because a comparison is a single recorded action rather than a statistical spike.
Can I get NorthRadar signals at the account level too?
Yes. Every person is linked to a company, so the feed rolls up to accounts and buying committees, and it can sit next to Bombora surges in the same CRM.
